Minor Hindrances
All Thumbs –2 Repair, Roll of 1 causes malfunction
Anemic –2 to Fatigue tests
Animosity Strong feelings against a major group
Arcane Crutch Caster takes -2 on arcane skill rolls unless some requirement if fulfilled
Bad Eyes –2 to attack or notice something more than 5” distant
Big Mouth Unable to keep a secret, blabs at the worst time
Born Under a Bad Sign Bad stuff keeps happening to you
Branded -2 Charisma for social stigma
Cautious Character is overly careful
Cocky Must brag during first round of combat
Death Wish Hero wants to die after completing some task
Dishonoured -2 Charisma and bad treatment due to past actions
Doubting Thomas -2 Fear checks vs supernatural terrors
Enemy Character has a minor recurring nemesis
Expensive Taste Character pays 25% more for everything
Geas Gain a minor restriction that must be followed
Greedy Character is obsessed with wealth
Habit Charisma –1
Hard of Hearing –2 to Notice sounds
Heavy Sleeper –4 to wake up or stay awake
Hedonistic You have great difficulty turning down pleasurable things
Illiterate Hero is unable to read or write
Impatient Unable to wait or patiently work on a problem
Lecherous Spirit check to avoid seducing potential targets
Lying Eyes -4 to Persuasion when lying
Loyal The hero tries to never betray or disappoint his friends
Mean –2 to his Charisma for ill-temper and surliness
Obese +1 Toughness, –1 Pace, d4 running die
Obligations Ties and responsibilities to an organization
One Hand -2 to any rolls involving two hands
Outsider –2 Charisma, treated badly by those of dominant society
Pacifist Character fights only in self-defense
Persistent Injury Shaken when failing Strength or Agility checks
Phobia –2 to Trait tests when near the phobia
Poverty Half starting funds, inability to hang onto future income
Quirk Character has some minor but persistent foible
Stubborn Hero always wants his way and never admits he’s wrong
Superstitious Must perform minor ritual during first round of combat
Ugly –2 Charisma due to appearance
Tithing Donate 10% to the church
Vengeful Character holds a grudge, but usually seeks vengeance legally
Vow A pledge to a group, deity, or religion
Wanted The character is a wanted for minor crimes (or distant major ones
Major Hindrances
Animosity Intense hatred against a major group
Arrogant Must humiliate opponent, challenge the ‘leader’
Bad Luck One less Benny per session
Blind –6 to all actions that rely on vision; –2 on social rolls, gain additional Edge
Bloodthirsty Never takes prisoners, -4 Charisma if known
Clueless –2 to most Common Knowledge rolls
Code of Honor Character keeps his word and acts like a gentleman
Curious Character wants to know about everything
Delusional Character suffers from grave delusions and broadcasts it
Elderly Pace –1, –1 to Strength and Vigor die types; +5 skill points for Smarts skills
Enemy Character has a major recurring nemesis
Geas Gain a major restriction that must be followed
Glass Jaw -2 to Soak rolls
Greedy Character is obsessed with wealth to the point of causing harm
Habit Charisma –1; Fatigue rolls when deprived of Habits
Hard of Hearing Completely deaf and automatically fails hearing Notice checks
Heroic Character always helps those in need
Lame –2 Pace and running die is a d4
Obligations Ties and responsibilities to an organization
One Arm –4 to tasks requiring two arms
One Eye –1 Charisma, –2 to rolls requiring depth perception
One Leg Pace –2, d4 running die, –2 to rolls requiring mobility, –2 to Swimming skill
Overconfident The hero believes he can do anything
Pacifist Character won’t harm living creatures
Panicky Redraw Action Cards above 10
Phobia –4 to Trait tests when near the phobia
Slow Draw two Action Cards and take the worst
Small –1 Toughness
Uneducated Character cannot read/write, gains no language skills and pays extra for Smarts skills
Unfocused Use d4 for Wild die unless spending a Benny
Vengeful Character holds a grudge and will kill for revenge
Vow A pledge to a group, deity, or religion
Wanted The character is wanted for major crimes
Yellow The character is cowardly and suffers –2 to Fear checks
Young 3 points for Attributes, 10 skill points, +1 Benny per session
